Ancestors
The Ancestors are the name given in Dwarfish mythology to the ancestor race of dwarvenkind. According to ancient legends, the Ancestors were created from the elements in the Light by the Architect of the Light. Fully attuned to the physical world, they couldn't look at the Light of creation without coming to covet it. When Marohmir stole the Light after first begging and bartering for it, the Architect threw them away from the Light into what is presumed to be the Once-Created, where Marohmir's use of the Light saved them.
While Filianism has integrated the story of the Ancestors into the scriptural interpretation of the Fall of the Children and the Birth of Death, the Ancestors are taken as the Sempercreational form of dwarvenkind, with their attunement and relative stability in the physical elements of the world presaged dwarven craftsmanship, covetousness and art.
