Damian Fitzroy

Damian Fitzroy was born in 1840 to Thomas and Martha Fitzroy. He grew up in the lap of luxury and never wanted for anything. At age 17 he was accepted into the Cerelian College of Business and Finance, where he studied accounting. His natural gift for mathematics earned him an early graduation, after which he got a job in the family business as head of accounting. At the time, the Fitzroy Railroad Company was in dire straits and was rapidly losing funds. It was Damian who pulled the company out of the depths by making major cuts to the company's domestic projects. He eventually earned a spot in the board of directors, where he helped to negotiate a contract with the Union to construct a major railroad connecting Spire City and the Union to Darkstone, in the Outlands. Upon the death of his mother, Damian inherited the company and became the majority shareholder and CEO. One of his first acts was raising the wages of his railroad workers in the face of looming labor disputes.   When the railroad was completed, Damian moved to Darkstone, which became his permanent residence. He engaged in some philanthropy, donating to local museums and schools. Rumors began to stir in 1870 that he might be preparing to run for mayor. In Frostfall of 1870, he formally announced his campaign against the sitting mayor of Darkstone, Maria Cossman. With little to no policy to speak of, Damian focused his public rhetoric on bringing jobs to Darkstone by maintaining and even expanding the mining operations for which the city was known. Despite his tepid policy and public appearances, he gained a dedicated following, mostly composed of the city's elite, and is now the primary contender against Cossman. In recent weeks, his popularity in the local polls has dropped drastically, leading him to seek out other means of convincing the voting populace. He made arrangements to meet with a local Moonrunner cell, in the hopes that the hired muscle would intimidate powerful supporters of his opponents.

Damian had an incredibly expensive and high quality education.

Damian got a job right out of university as a bookkeeper for his mother's business, which he later inherited. He is CEO and majority shareholder of the Fitzroy Railroad Company.

Oversaw the completion of the Grand Union Railroad which connected Spire City to the Darkstone. He claims credit for it's construction despite only inheriting the company three weeks before the railroad's completion.

Damian once got in trouble for extracting funds from the family company for personal parties.

Despite being socially inept and lacking any form of common sense, Damian is remarkably good with numbers and even dabbles in amateur alchemy in his spare time, of which he has a lot.

Damian is not necessarily a bad person, per se, just incredibly spoiled and privileged. He is incredibly ignorant to the lived experiences of others.

Becoming mayor of Darkstone.

Damian likes money, women, parties, mathematics, and alchemy. He dislikes conflict, competition, and not getting his way.

Damian is remarkably good with math, and helped to pull Fitzroy Railroad Company out of a dire financial situation. He raised wages for Fitzroy Co. employees upon becoming CEO. Whether this was out of genuine compassion and concern for their well-being or just to prevent a labor dispute ahead of time is unclear. Though he is unaware of Diamondback's intentions, he seems to feel genuine love for her.

Damian is spoiled beyond words and is used to getting his way. He often throws lavish parties at his mansion in Darkstone. He is rumored to have an addiction to potions. He tends to take people at their word, even known criminals and liars. This has gotten him in trouble a number of times, such as when he tried to hire Moonrunners to intimidate his political opponents.

Damian has impeccable hygiene, to the point where his body has almost never had a chance to build any kind of immunities.

Damian is dating the criminal femme-fatale known as Diamondback, though he knows her as Viola and has no idea of her intentions.

Damian's parents passed away some time ago. He has a disinherited sister who he no longer speaks to.

While somewhat charming in an awkward way, Damian is not very charismatic and often fumbles through his social interactions. He has very good manners despite this.

Damian has a habit of moving his hands a lot while talking. When exasperated or impatient, he tends to throw his head back and sigh.

Damian is an amateur alchemist.

Damian speaks in a Cerelian accent, in a manner associated with the upper class. His voice has a slight moaning quality to it. He calls people he likes "darling," regardless of his relationship to them.

Damian is a multi-millionaire. He owns two mansions, one in Darkstone and one in Spire City.
