Mago's Book of Kelemvor

This copy of the Book of Kelemvor is ancient, dating back to "the 731st year of the Age of Mortals" (approximately 1000 years ago). Its fading cover depicts a stylized humanoid holding the Scale of Kelemvor in one hand and the moon in another.    It begins thusly:    731 years ago, our people were brought together under the grace of Kelemvor to combat the forces of Sanguine. Since then, the Book hath been inscribed only in the High Elven script, so that only the few can read from it. This humble servant has undertaken the task of translating the Book into our tongue, so that our lay clergy can preach to the faithful of Aurea.    It describes the life of the mortal Kelemvor:   The Evening Lord was born as a mortal by the Great Mother who created the world and his infant form was taken in by mercenaries, who gave him the name "Kelemvor Lyonsbane". He had a brother, Lathandar, but they were separated at birth. He wandered the land during the Age of Waking millennia ago as an adventurer and was stricken with the curse of the Panther...   ...A necromancer named Cyric proclaimed himself the God of Death, and oppressed the mortals from the dread city of Zhentil...    The book then details how Kelemvor killed Cyric and ascended to the position of the God of Death, which he still occupies:   The Evening Lord now resides in the Ethereal plane, where he judges souls and shepherds them to their ultimate fate. Those souls who are purest of heart ascend to the Seven Heavens, while those beyond redemption are cast to the Nine Hells. But the vast majority of the mortal flock are simply returned by Him to the Wheel, where they are brought back into this World by the radiance of the Morning Lord, who was once called Lathandar.    Much of the remaining book is familiar to you, and details the various rites and rituals that accompany burial, as well as various prayers and miracles wrought by Kelemvor.
