Vrayitor

This line of vampirism stems from some of the first to be overtaken by the curse. Vrayis the first of the line was a powerful Necromancer who sought immortality. Finding Vampirism instead Vrayis secluded himself from the world and strove to perfect his affliction. Turning only a few at first to aide in his research, Vrayitor's line now tends to be strong magic users. They are prone to performing wild experimentation with the basic ideas of life and death which leads them to a more solitary existence and a thirst for knowledge and blood. This blood line is marked with a more hideous appearance taking on the gaunt look of death, they can oftentimes be mistaken for a young Lich. This line of Vampire's are strong magic users and often attract thralls from the misshapen or otherwise cast out of society. Vrayitor strive to complete their forebears work and unravel the curse of Vampirism while maintaining its benefits. They will shun their feeding for prolonged periods of time until they are near mad which often leads them to savagery.

Culture

Common Etiquette rules

Vrayitor are rarely concerned with the happenings of the world around them.  They prefer isolation and the pursuit of knowledge.  This reclusive nature has made them stand offish, ill tempered, and some of the least social of Vampires.  Finding their need to feed an interference to their research they tend to avoid areas where their existence can be discerned, this forces them to favor major metropolitan areas where the occasional missing person does not draw much attention or incredibly remote region where they go unnoticed.

Coming of Age Rites

Many Vrayitor are made purely for the purpose of experimentation, to create a more perfect form of Vampirism.  These experiments are often traumatic, dangerous, and lethal for the arisen.  Should they endure these early stages of Vampirism as a Vrayitor they will either join their sires coven and research efforts of be released to the world with an unending drive to find their Original Sires answers.

Historical figures

Vrayis is said to be the first mortal afflicted by Vampirism.  A human vassal of a silver dragon clan, Vrayis was a talented magical practitioner with a focus of planar travel and necromancy.  Having stumbled upon the magical curse by accident Vryais abandoned his Clan and fled into the wilds of the world in the Age of Wonder.  Hunted for what he was by the the Dragons of Clan Pinnacle, he was rumored to have been slain in the early days of the First Age, however there are many of his lineage that insist their dark patron still exists hidden from the world, no longer needing to feed, still seeking the perfection of his experiment.
