von Danesti
Marius von Danesti and his family embraced the Vampiric gifts early in the Dragon wars and turned their Imperial estates against both forces in the dragon wars. It is unclear where Marius gained the affliction, as he exhibits powers not before seen by Vampires before this time. Some claim it was a dark gift from the realm of Shadow, others claim Vrayis himself offered the Danesti brothers his 'perfected' Vampirism. Regardless of how it came to be, the von Danesti line was born, Marius soon turned his children and closest allies in the region. Now the greatest nobles of the Rutheni are all progeny created from this. von Danesti vampires in particular heighten their acumen for statecraft and diplomacy when they are arisen.
Culture
Common Etiquette rules
von Danesti Vampires do not behave all that different from their mortal noble counterparts, or their courts all that different from how they were before turning. The prospect of immortality has heightened the courts decadence over the centuries but most customs have all remained the same.
Coming of Age Rites
When von Danesti vampires move beyond their first few decades and are released by their sire, a formal ceremony of investiture is under taken. The Progeny swears oaths of fealty and allegiance to both their sire and the Count Marius, to serve the Rutheni and its people living and dead.
Historical figures
Marius von Danesti is the founder of the bloodline and the last Count of the Rutheni. He ruled wisely and just for many centuries, but in the twilight of the second age as his children were lost and killed a grave darkness and madness was said to have claimed him.
Ideals
Relationship Ideals
von Danesti vampires have maintained a healthy 'stock' of mortal nobles from their family line, trying to keep the Progeny to that of blue blooded Rutheni. However great servants and loyal vassals have also been known to be gifted with the blood of Marius. The bloodrage of a new arisen is carefully managed by their Sire and any wanton bloodletting and mayhem among the common populace is harshly punished.
