While it is thought early Goblins were little more then beasts, Jaeryth mind was sharp, and filled with a love for machines. How Jaeryth and goblins came into being is a great mystery, many early cultures claimed that Jaeryth was once a powerful sorcerer who was cursed and now comes to steal children of mortals and turn them into goblins trying to find a way to reverse his plight. While likely simply stories to scare children, this rumor has persisted and does not help Goblins as they try to exist within other societies. Jaeryth in actuality is mostly interested in being left alone to experiment and create new and more wild machinations.
