Elluriel the Soul Hunter
Elluriel had been a pirate queen long before she became a godling, cruel, brilliant, and devout in the way only the damned are devout. Many a soul and ship had she sent to her deep mistress thru her career upon the seas. In the twilight of the second age Elluriel betrayed her mistress, and usurped her mantle. Vivendall had desired to claim the power of the fallen spirit Tanifa and transcend to the realm of Shadow where the rules which bound her collection of souls would not apply. Elluriel however had other plans, slaying Vivendall and stealing her spiritual power she took the throne prepared for the deep queen herself. From that dusk bound domain of Cuan Scáithmhar she reaps the seas and the mortal coasts alike, stealing souls from their rightful passage and dragging them into her keeping. Some she takes by violence. Others she wins by temptation: promises of freedom from judgment, of power without consequence, of a place at her side when the living world finally drowns in dark.
Divine Domains
Cuan Scáithmhar carved into an inlet upon the Shadow Plane where the sea becomes a pane of black glass and the fog hangs like wet burial cloth, swallowing all sound in erie quiety. Wrecks drift there without wind or tide, ship-shapes made of splintered memory, their timbers half-real, their sails stitched from dusk, all moored to iron rings hammered into stone that sweats cold brine. Lanterns burn with corpse-pale witchlight along the docks, each flame fed by a name that was never meant to be taken, and beneath the water’s surface pale chains sway as if something vast is turning in its sleep. This is Elluriel’s Shadow-Harbor, part sanctuary, part snare, where stolen souls are “berthed” like cargo, bartered in whispers, and counted in ledgers that never end. The living may come to barter for the freedom of a loved one or offer a soul that is not their own, few ever leave that enter here whole. Her flagship, The Wraithwake, hangs at the innermost berth of Cuan Scáithmhar, chained bow and stern to the Black Quay as if the harbor itself refuses to let it drift. When her ship leaves Cuan Scáithmhar the mortal seas tremble.
Holy Books & Codes
Deific Obedience: At dusk or in the hour before dawn, find open sea water or fill a basin salted until it stings the tongue. Coil a length of cord or chain into a tight, perfect spiral, knotting it seven times as you whisper the names of the dead you have personally witnessed, those claimed by blade, by storm, by betrayal, or by choice. With each name, drip a little brine onto the coil. When finished slide a single coin beneath it as “berth-fee” for the soul. Gain the Know the Way cantrip as a divine innate spell.
Imparted Power: Gain the Domain Initiate Feat, this does not count as a prerequisite for other feats unless you are a Cleric
Doom of Sailors: The seas are yours to command. Gain Control Water as a divine innate spell you may cast once per day.
Advanced Imparted Power: Gain the Advanced Initiate Feat, this does not count as a prerequisite for other feats unless you are a Cleric
Marked to Die: When a creature within 60 feet would be reduced to 0 HP, you can use a reaction to mark it with Elluriel’s claim (death, necromancy, shadow). The creature becomes doomed 1 (or increases its doomed value by 1 if already doomed). While marked healing is half as effective upon the target and if you are within 60ft, you gain the HP reduced by the mark. You may only have one creature marked at a time, and the mark is removed when they lose the doomed condition.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Elluriels symbol is a ships wheel covered in barnacles with a soul gem encased in the center. While only the most devout can actually acquire a real soul gem, many will use a fine stone of various types until such a rare find can be acquired.
Tenets of Faith
The edicts of Elluriel are to claim what can be taken, souls, ships, fortunes, and secrets. Keep trophies of conquest as proof of your victory, and always pay the harbor due to Cuan Scáithmhar
It is Anathema to Elluriel to return what you have rightfully taken without gain or greater debt. Break a sworn bargain. Show mercy when no leverage, ransom, or binding cost is secured.
Holidays
Elluriel holds no high holy days as he followers are few and quiet.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Elluriel's goals are to claim power for herself. She is not motivated by the divine squables that have plagued Eraneth. Her purpose was to claim a great power and build upon it. While she resides in the lands of Thurazdur now, she cares little for the Dracolich and his mission, only the souls she can collect for her own realm.
