Auretus

Auretus is the Capital of Clan Aureate and the only large city in their domains, and rests along the Nordrin river which flows north to the sea. The city is built of white stone and gilded with opulence fit for the Dragon Lords who ruled it. Its country side is filled with fields, its river powers mills and produces the most grain in the north of Ioban. Its streets are strait and clean, lined with hedges and carefully curated trees to form a picturesque beauty within its walls.

Halfdragons are more prevalent in the city then other regions of the Clan holdings.

Government

With absence of Dragons and the divine leadership there in, the Noble Houses of Aureate decided to elect a Monarch from amongst them to lead the Clan until the dragons return. The power of the Monarch is checked by a Senate, of which each prominent family has a seat.

Defences

Auretus is defended by a military force contributed to by each of the noble houses under the command of the Monarch instead of their lord. This force has not been greatly tested since the silencing of Dragons, and many question if their loyalty will remain.

Guilds and Factions

While each noble house vies for power and Authority there are 3 that have risen to prominence since the Slumbering of dragons. House Aelindon leads a very militant faction among the nobility wishing to expand their borders and continue the war against the aggressive White Dragon Clans that occupy the northern mountains. House Cuthalion currently holds the Monarchal seat and leads a faction of mercantile minded members of the Noble Houses, eager to see overseas trade returned to their land locked country. House Tathariel leads a more diplomatic minded wing of Noble Houses believing that no single clan can stand alone in this time and that alliances either thru the Ary and the Council or direct relationships between clans must be forged for prosperity to be secured.
