The Festivals of Seasonal Transition
Observance
Each festival takes place on a day considered the last day of one season, and the first of the next. Traditionally these festivals fell neither into the month preceeding or the month following. It is still common to simply refer to the date at the end of Autumn as 'Stowing' as originally intended by Piet Kercorrit, and yet it is increasingly common to find written calendars that claim 'The Festival of Stowing' takes place on the 25th of Toilsept. Older generations of those who worship the Seasonal pantheon consider this nonsensical, but it means that the calendar is more useful to followers of other religions, simply as a way to mark the changing weather, while not dedicating a whole page to a festival they do not celebrate.
