Noomancer

To become a certified Noomancer, one must show promising aptitude with psionic powers and the responsibility to use them. This is represented through taking two written tests and a series of practical challenges, offered through private and public institutions and regulated by the Judicial branch of the government. Once these tests and challenges have been passed, the participant gains a license to practice noomancy that must be renewed once every 5 years.

Noomancers often make quite a hefty sum of money from their jobs: as they fulfill roles that are in high demand while being a fleeting, rare resource. The companies that a noomancer joins does not set a price for their work, they instead pay the noomancer what he reasonably asks for when taking up a contract.

Noomancers, apart from the specialized services they provide, exemplify the practical and safe uses that psionics can grant a society; provided they are used by responsible personnel.

Due to their well-paying jobs, they live in the upper classes of their societies but lack the social influence that one like a celebrity or politician may have.

An essential tool for all Noomancers is their specialized Psi Amp. This device is often custom-made by the noomancer that uses it, and is used to focus their energy into more controllable waveforms. This device often comes in the form of a circular band that wraps around the forehead of the user faced with a glowing-blue focusing lens, or a cybernetic implant faced with a similar lens.

Noomancers can operate as elite infantry or perfect investigators. Their ability to teleport near instantly, turn invisible, and create telekinetic barriers makes them insanely valuable in a fight; making them prime candidates for special forces troopers. As investigators, their ability to probe the minds of those they need to question and extract information from them can turn potentially complex, multi-year investigations into simple ones that may be resolved in weeks.

In hostile situations, noomancers are considered high-value targets and are almost always the first to come under fire.
