Edstrom Island

This tiny island was the "birthplace" of the cyborgs. Now, the exact details of the revolt are unknown, as there is nothing left, but the story goes that the cyborgs revolted against the factory, and during that revolt, something went wrong.
Something or someone initiated a self-destruct sequence, and just a minute later, the island was reduced to a burning heap of smoldering ashes. The Factory was gone, and a huge, deep hole in the ground filled up with water from the surrounding ocean. No cyborgs survived except one selection of 10,000 that the factory had created a day before and placed in the cave near the harbor for transport.

The island was a tropical island, lush with green, dense vegetation, bristling with life.

Ecosystem
the island is still an island, but captured in ice. the frozen surface enables enaimals to cross from island to island and a new ecology is rising. Electronic devices and computers are dead when you come near the island.

deep undergound is a pulsating energy source. several investigations have reported failure to investigate. the messages begin always with werid interference and instruments breaking down
History
since the explosion certain levels of radiation have been measured from the island's hell hole. ( where the factory was) the third expedition was on foot and never heard from again. Rumours are that there is a robot killing people when they get close. attempts to communicate with anything there have failed...

none so far, everyone who goes there has been unable to reach the island. due to technical problems
