Playable races

NOTE: Orcs, Dragonborn, Aasimar or Tieflings are not currently available as player races.

Races

  • Humans: Found throughout Epios.
  • Elves: More common in Aeres than in other countries. There are subtle variations between elves. If you want to play a sea elf or a wild elf to benefit from the stats and it fits your character’s background, consult with the DM.
  • Dwarves: Many take a liking to the warlike state of Trair Echan, but can also be found in Aeres and Vaspheqa.
  • Genasi: Fire genasi prefer the deserts of Vaspheqa. The other Genasi are found throughout Epios - despite being looked upon as slightly alien in Trair Echan. Live somewhere between 130-150 years on average. Fire and earth genasi tend to live longer than air and water genasi.
  • Gnomes: Found throughout Epios. They prefer to live among other races than create gnome-only cities or towns.
  • Halflings: Commonly wanderers. There are not many of them, and they tend to keep to small groups.
  • Kenku: Kenku are exceedingly rare as they were sent from cities to fend for themselves in the wilderness due to an illness fatal to other races 1000 years ago. Unlike default D&D Kenku, the Shorul are capable of invention and normal speech. Consult the DM if you want to play one.
  • Other: Ask the DM.

On Genasi

Genasi are just as numerous as other races - almost more so, in some places. In the rare occurrence that someone has sailed to Epios from another continent, they’re often heard wondering why this is; elsewhere in the world they are not so common. The oldest of elves speak of stories passed on from their grandparents about times when the continent of Epios was young and how the veil between the elemental planes and the material world was thin to allow for the widespread existence of Genasi.

Secluded Kenku

History books tell that after having lived among humans in peace, the Kenku were cast out as a mysterious illness began to spread among them. This illness was not very dangerous for Kenku themselves, but almost always fatal to other races. This led to a thorough exile of the Kenku, and they built themselves a new life away from the prying eyes of humans and other races, hidden away. Few Kenku have been seen since.
