FIELD
FIELD (Forensic Investigative Engineering Larceny Diagnostics) is a widespread criminal organization that seeks to procure, study, duplicate and profit from whatever paranormal technology can be found lying around. The organization was founded out of a university STEM department, led by soon-to-graduate students and a few faculty members that felt overshadowed by 'super-scientists' and looked to make brighter financial futures through a life of crime.
One of the hallmarks of FIELD is that they hold their minions to a higher standard than the average henchman. There is a twenty-page written exam to join, as well as a few entrance requirements that range from the playful (perfectly microwave a hot pocket) to the grueling (defend a research thesis on a piece of super-technology). Once accepted, a FIELD researcher is given a uniform, set of common tools, and will be sent on 'salvage' missions to abandoned villain lairs, research laboratories, or anywhere that FIELD thinks they can find a profitable venture. They sometimes fence stolen goods, but the real money is in taking an item back to a FIELD lab, stripping it, and studying the thing to duplicate it. Naturally, they are constantly at odds with the Department of Paranormal Affairs
Current membership of FIELD is unknown, but they are under the direction of FIELD Director Hackman. Aside from daily operations, FIELD as an organization is worried about talks of student debt relief, fearing that will severely cut into their membership.
