The Machina War
Military action

The Kingdom of Yevon declared war on the Kingom of Figaro over their use of Machina. The abomination known as Sin contributes to the destruction in the bay between the two nations and for years the war is fought to a stalement. It was not until Zilya, Herald of Phoenix demanded a meeting between the two nations, forcing an uneasy ceasefire and establishing a demilitarized zone in the Maldonbeck Territories.

The Calamity
Disaster / Destruction

During the Battle of Carteneau, the moon of Dalamud broke apart over Eorzea raining destruction and devastating the world. This ended the 6th Astral Era and began the 7th Umbral Era.

The Rebuilding
Construction beginning/end

The survivors of Eorzea awaken to discover the world forever changed by Dalamud crashing into the planet. They begin to rebuild and begin discovering many structures long since forgotten from previous Umbral Eras that were unearthed by the turmoil.
