The Lands of the Bear Tribe
611 AU, Urgag (2nd day) of the Second Galend of Mald (day 197 of the year, 5th day of Chalice in the month of the Trout, Dragon Isles calendar)
The team continued along the road traveling through the edges of Wallan's Dooms forest. Camping and posting a guard and letting the Mage rest and recover. One night the 2nd watch started and were surprised that Uoret was not anywhere in the camp. In fact they realized that they had been woken up early by noises in the trees. Following the noises they realized that Uoret had been kidnapped. They continued though most of the night until they came upon a cave where they presumed who or what ever had captured Uoret was holed up.
A battle then began with the Wood Troll and it was not an easy fight. Several of the adventurers were wounded and required first aid but hey did find Uoret unconscious but not mortally wounded. After caring for his and the rest of the team's wounds they continued back to their campsite. And of course there were scavengers their starting to loot them. The Mage had had quite enough and evoked a lighting strike close by the would be looters who immediately turned tail and ran off in all directions.
The adventurers gathered up their camp and continued on the March Trail until they came upon the town of Burbeck in the Bear Tribe lands. It was very busy and similar yet different to the towns of the Eorldom of Gar. When the Rogue checked in with the local Thief's guild he heard disturbing stories about Daranmax and how there were several groups vying for control of the Summer Capitol of Urtind. The group rested overnight and then replenished their supplies to prepare for the long journey to Daranmax. The following day the headed out along the Gold Trail. After almost 6 days of travel they came across a small village nestled into the north-eastern edge of the Willow Woods forest.
That night while enjoying a good meal at the village inn they met several locals as well as a precocious pair of children who's wood worker father was visiting the village to secure some wood for a royal commission. They also met the local Forester and Lord who welcomed them to the village. As well the Mage befriended a local woodsman who promised to show her some of the local wood that she could harvest for magical purposes. As it happens, the next morning the wood worker's children had gone missing and were last seen wandering towards the forest. The locals were concerned since no one goes into the woods unguarded.
The Lord organized a search party and the adventures joined the search, but were surprised when it was very cursory and no one went beyond sight of the village. As time pasted the adventurers questioned why no one went further into the woods and were told it was not safe. Of course Uoret was successful in finding the children's footprints going deeper into the woods and took it upon themselves to continue the search even after darkness began to fall. The Lord bid them a safe hunt but shook his head.
The team continued deeper into the woods and eventually were set upon by foul goblin archers hiding in the trees. Despite being surprised the team's Forester and Mage were able to dispatch the Goblins albeit by use of arrows and a Lightning bolt that set one of the trees on fire. Which in turn provided a guiding light for the Goblin patrol to home in on. So the team had to then deal with a Goblin leader and two Warg riding Goblins. These too were defeated, but this time by the Flarty and Cloudagh as well as Uoret and the Mage. The rogue was busy climbing in trees and seeing what routes through the trees the Goblins had been using.
Once the team had caught their breath they continued to follow various trails until they came upon what they determined was the entrance to a Goblin hideout. Being more cautious they tried various 'tricks' to see if they could entice the goblins to come out. Eventually they did get two guards and some kind of reptile to come out of the cave. A battle ensued and despite beating their foes, the team had a set back. The Mage fell backwards into a pit trap and was severely wounded. After some first aid and another rest the team continued down into the Goblin's liar with the Mage staying at the back and the rogue checking for traps as they carefully descended into the goblin's cave system.
Several rooms and hallway's were explored which of course uncovered more goblins as well as hobgoblins. One by one the team continued through the rooms and hallways besting the goblins and continuing further down into the complex. Eventually they found the room with the children some what worse for wear and returned back through the hallways and eventually back to the village where they were cheered for their bravery and handsomely rewarded for the return of the children by the woodworker.
