B'ran Owen Sinopa
The Sinopa clan’s seat is the walled hilltop village of Sinopa in the eastern edges of the Fox tribes holdings and represent the last villages before travelers enter the Jars Forest along the March Trail. Caer Sinopa, B'ran Owin Sinopa’s wooden motte and stone walled bailey and shell keep VII is one of the region's more impressive fortifications. The gates of the village are stone as are several of the towers along the walls. The current wooden palisade is being replaced by stone walls but have only just started and will take a decade or more to complete.
The economy of Sinopa is largely farming, however it includes very high quality crops that are known throughout the Eorldom. The various fruit trees include apples, cherries, plums, pears and apricots. The normal grains are grown as well and of very good quality. The Flax and Hemp crops and the resulting linen and rope are preferred by all within the region and are also exported to the closest Bear clan towns as well.
Serr Owin is a young man of only 27 years and has recently proposed to B’ran Teague to wed their daughter an Elstash of renown within the Gar Marches. They share a love of horses and are both accomplished Elstash. Serr Owin is very accomplished at Jousting (67%PSF) and Mounted Combat (58%). He spent much of his time traveling the lands of both Jar and Gar Eorldoms until the death of his father two years ago. His mother, Rowena (48 years old), remains at the Caer and is for all intents his Senechal. Serr Owin has two brothers, Cecil is the Associate Principal at the College of Light in Jaronne while the other who is only 14 years old is training to become a warrior.
As well, Sinopa Clan is known for some of the best warhorses in the region, rivaling those of the Eorl himself. These horses are known within the adjacent Bear clan but are not as renowned as the Garmoor ponies. The chief’s warhorse is a Great Warhorse with his guard each riding either a Superb or Great warhorse. He owns over 180 breeding mares, each of which is either Great (~25%) or Superb. Each spring there will be over 170 foals and 160 or more yearlings. The B’ran has 3 stallions two of which are Superb and the other is a Great warhorse. Many of the Fox tribe Warbands get their horses from the Sinopa clan.
Sinopa warhorses are usually dark or blood bay in colour. The Great horses tend to be more dun in their colouring yet some are dark or blood bays. They rarely stand less than 15 hands (60 inches) and are usually almost 16 hands tall (64 inches). The Sinopa breed are excellent destriers and have a stocky, powerful build making the Sinopa breed exceptionally strong when compared to other warhorses, and is noted for its hardiness and endurance (+2 STR/+2 CON). Sinopa horses have a fine coat with a mane and tail which is thick and long. Many horse buyers become distracted and cannot believe how beautiful this breed looks (+3 APP).
