The most common type of food this species eats is seeds and insects. With their enhanced foraging skills, it comes incredibly easy to them. Although, they are also opportunistic feeders. They can still eat meat, but don't do it as often!

In most groups, the dominant birds get to eat first. After the domianant birds, the young and elders get to eat, and then the rest of the group. Some may offer food to their mates to grow their bond.

Life Cycle & Reproduction

The main mating season for these guys are spring to summer. To get anothers attention, they sing a song and puff up their feathers to perform an aerial dance.

Both parents are highly involved in raising the young. Even when the bird is as old as fifteen, the parents are still coddling them and making sure no one gets hurt. Neighboring sparrow aakacora may help defend as well.

  • Aarak (mid life) - sixteen to thirty
  • Arun (elder) - thirty and above

Much like humans and their subtle social cues, these big birds have something like that too. They enunciate their speech with chirps and caws and get angry when the other person does not understand what they are trying to say.
