Falcon Aarakocra
Behavior & Social Structure
Falcon Aarakocra are very love-oriented. They search for love and once they find it they do not stop pursuing. Before they find their mate, they hunt alone. They are solidity hunters and prefer to hunt alone. When they find their love, they start to learn to hunt in pairs. They tend to be extremely territorial.
Abilities & Magic
With their aerodynamic wing shape, these humanoid birds are known to be fast fliers. Because of this, they are exceptionally good hunters. When hunting alone, they already do some good damage, but while in a duo with their mate, they can get much more done. Both ways are effective, thoguh.
Habitat & Environment & Diet
The Falcon Aarakocra love to be near cliff faces . Being on cliff faces gives them a great vantage point for prey, an advantage they take whenever they can. The idea of being on a cliff alone also gives them an appeal, they like being alone (with or without their mate). Oftentimes lakes are near the cliff faces. This provides them with enough water to support their families.
They prefer to hunt for prey. Something like foraging for berries all day does not sound appealing to them, although it is something they can do in a pinch. For the most part, these humanoid birds hunt smaller birds and mammals.
The stoop is the most common hunting technique. With this, the falcon climbs to a high perch (which can be hundreds of feet off the ground). They then dive at incredibly fast speeds toward its prey. In their descent, they tuck their wings close to their body to go even faster.
Sharing food between Falcon Aarakocra's is known for bonding. If a falcon shares a piece of their prety with another, it as seen as a way to get to know the person better. The two will often talk while eating and get to know each other better.
Life Cycle & Reproduction
In the beginning of a young Falcon Aarakorca's life, their parents work together to make sure everything goes to plan. There is always one parent with the fledgling, making sure nothing goes astray. When the fledgling grows to an Aarak, the parents back off quite a bit. They want their little aarak to learn the ways on their own and not be influenced by their parents.
Relations & Society
Much like humans and their subtle social cues, these big birds have something like that too. They enunciate their speach with chirps and caws and get angry when the other person does not understand what they are trying to say.
