Born in a small, coastal town. His father is a carpenter, his mother a weaver; they left for the main city of Sh'vath when Kevyn was about 10. He was apprenticed to become a carpenter until he was 13, when a Shadow of the College of the Harlquin Mask took notice in him when he was playing a card game involving bluffing. After some persuasion, Kevyn agreed to join the College when he was 16. When he left, his father gave him a carved pendant of the symbol of the patron saint of secrets, St. Ulith. He promised his parents that if he was ever killed on a mission, they'd learn via the pendant being returned in the mail. Kevyn was mostly happy in the College, where he discovered that he was particularly adept at finding and gathering information.

When he left the college at 24, he was immediately posted to The Republic to grow the Shadow Guild's network and make contacts and contracts there; this is partially due to the fact that he pissed off one of the professors who helped make decisions on where to send people (Kevyn got a love letter from the professor's son, but Kevyn dgaf abt him anyway.)

Keeps in contact with his mentor who helped him further develop his skills, etc

Works for the Assassin's Guild in Sh'vath, deployed to the opposite side of the continent in order to work on extending the arm of the Guild.

Not particularly religious, but will send a quick prayer to St Ulith from time to time, as they are the patron saint of all of the Shadow Colleges -- it is unusual for graduates to leave without some respect and belief in St Ulith. It is rumored amongst graduates that the Dean of each of the colleges is visited by St Ulith when they are chosen as the Dean.

St Ulith, in the Shadow Colleges, is often represented with the closed eye, dark corners, poisonous flowers, and the color purple. They are often depicted as a masked and cloaked figure, with an outreached arm in front of them holding a candle, to simultaneously represent masking and unmasking of secrets, as well as to show departed souls the way to the Underworld, and remind assassins that they will be judged by St Ulith
