Skyships
Crystalwind Voyager
Visual Design
The hull is carved from dark elderwood, its grain swirling like a stormy sky. Runes of pale cerulean light trace elegant patterns along the sides, pulsing softly with every gust of wind. Towering crystal sun sails refract sunlight into prismatic hues, casting rainbow flecks across the clouds.
Propulsion
It is either by magic or more commonly by wind via the sails.
Different options are still being work on.
Crew and Roles
- Captain: veteran skyfarer who interprets ambient magic flows and plots courses through the skies.
- Runecaster: engraves fresh wards before each voyage, maintains propulsion sigils, and wards against skyborne creatures.
- Crystalwright: engineer-mage responsible for the crystal core’s stability and minor repairs to crystal parts of the mechanisms.
- Ships carpenter: Makes repairs to the wooden parts of the ship
- Lookout: perched atop the crow’s nest, using an enchanted spyglass to scout distant islands and landmarks.
Rituals and Maintenance
• Dawn crystal tuning: Crew realigns the runes at sunrise to match the day’s ambient magic flow.
• Midnight Web Weaving: Crystal-silk threads are reforged under moonlight to maintain ward integrity.
• Emergency Flash Runes: Re casting of glyphs that can instantly boost lift in dire situations.
• Core Recrystallization: Monthly ceremony where the crystal sphere is drained, cleansed, and refilled with fresh core fluid.
