Cobaltstar

Is a variant of the Drifting elder tree, that can only be found in the northern part of the Tri-split forest.

The trees leaves is a unique deep cobalt blue colour, with the veins and midrib being a sparkling silver. The wood itself is a darker aspen colour with a subtle hind of blue to it, where the wood grain is a subtle mat silver.

The ground around the tree is usually covered with Purple haze cap and strings for its root network. This mushroom is what makes this tree special, the little purple mushroom has anti magical properties, which curses a small local antimagic field. This allows for the Cobaltstar to pull higher amounts of ambient magic into it, instead of the magic being absorbed by multiple types of flora and fauna in the area.

The ambient magic also provide a lot of the energy and replaces some of the nutrients for the trees growth. Though the seasons what ever the tree discards, the purple haze cap is consuming, and continues this cycle of nutrients trading.

A second benefit of being surrounded by the purple haze cap, is that most animals keep away from the the antimagic field. Which helps protect the tree from pests.

One of the major properties of the woods natural infusion with magic, is that it is more or less ready to have enchanting imprinted into it.

(It does depend on the level of enchantment.)

The high mages of Precantator also has a proclivity to have it in the homes, both of the status and its innate abilities for magical uses.
