Caeracan

This nocturnal marsupial lives in dense woodland areas and emerges at night to feed on insects and beetles. Most are about 1ft long with prehensile tails that double this length. They are languorous creatures with no natural predators once they reach maturity, as their blood contains high levels of poisonous chemicals. Young are vulnerable when away from their mother, but tend to remain in the pouch until they can climb and begin feeding themselves. A bite or scratch from a Caracan of any age will result in a severe infection that can only be remedied by the careful administration of a pulp made of the leaves of the Caracao Tree.
