Ferrocept

Known as the Forge of the Dominion, Ferrocept rises from the eastern banks of the Lifevein River in tiers of white marble and dark granite.
Unlike the pure classical architecture of Aequitas, here the Maridian style takes on a more utilitarian character - gothic spires and elegant arches intermingle with sturdy warehouses and rumbling foundries. The Lifevein river splits into three and flows through its three main districts, each marked by the constant movement of goods and people.
The Riverside District dominates the left and right banks of the city, where broad stone quays stretch along the Lifevein. Here, warehouses and processing facilities rise on sturdy stone foundations, their chimneys releasing steady plumes of smoke into the air. The district buzzes with activity as barges laden with raw materials from the eastern mountains are unloaded, while processed goods are carefully packed onto vessels bound for the capital. The architecture here is predominantly practical, though even the warehouses bear the distinctive Maridian touches - carved columns and geometric patterns worked into their facades.
Forming around the banks of the three diverted parts of the river, the Merchant's Ring forms the city's commercial heart. Here, the traditional Maridian style asserts itself more strongly - covered arcades of white marble house countless shops and trading offices, their walls adorned with carved reliefs depicting scenes of commerce and industry. The streets follow elegant curves, centered around the Grand Exchange, a domed structure where merchants and traders gather to conduct business beneath frescoed ceilings.
The Summit District crowns the city's center, where the local nobility and wealthy merchants make their homes. Here, marble villas and elegant townhouses embrace the full splendor of Maridian architecture, their spired roofs and graceful balconies offering commanding views of the river below. The Governor's Palace stands as the district's centerpiece, its white walls inlaid with dark granite in geometric patterns that echo the city's industrial character.
Throughout Ferrocept, the sound of hammers and the hiss of forges forms a constant backdrop, mingling with the calls of merchants and the churning of water wheels. The air carries the metallic tang of industry, tempered by the fresh breeze that flows down from the eastern mountains. At night, the glow of foundry fires creates a warm illumination that reflects off the marble buildings, giving the city an almost ethereal quality despite its industrial nature.
Smaller districts weave between these main areas - the Foundry Quarter with its specialized workshops, the Foreign Quarter where mountain traders gather, and the warren-like Streets Below where the working class makes their home. Each maintains elements of Maridian architecture while adapting it to their particular needs, creating a city that stands as a unique fusion of imperial grandeur and industrial pragmatism.
