Class Level Abilities

Level 1

Active Abilities
Reading Magic: Through rigorous study and frequent contact with ancient magical texts, the Loremaster develops exceptional skill in scroll use and creation. The Loremaster can cast spells from scrolls without penalty and gains a +12 bonus to Scroll-Making. When this class is taken, choose 10 spells the Loremaster is familiar with. The Loremaster can spend (11 hours – Loremaster level) to scribe three scrolls of any chosen spell, provided they have the necessary materials. Alternatively, the Loremaster may spend half that time (rounded up) to scribe one scroll instead. If this class is taken at 1st level, the Loremaster begins play with a number of these scrolls equal to their Intellect (minimum 0).  
Conditional Abilities
Adept Researcher: When access to a laboratory or library is available, a Loremaster can spend time researching to gain a bonus on their next knowledge check. The Loremaster gains a +10 for every 4 hours spent researching to their next check. Additionally if at least 1 hour is spent, roll twice taking the better result.  
Passive Abilities
Expert Lecturer I: Gain a +6 in Debate. Choose a subject, (Law, Theology, Medicine, Criminology, History etc.) when using any rhetoric based ability you may instead use your debate skill if the subject of the roll relates to your chosen field. (ie. interrogating a criminal with a criminology lecture).   Specialist Tutoring: When this ability is gained, for each instance of Specialist Tutoring you already have, gain an additional +10 Knowledge.   Support Class: All classes consider the Specialist Class Group to be part of their class group for the purpose of multi-classing. A Loremaster can only be in one other class group unless otherwise specified.   Undergraduate Studies: Pick 5 General Skills under Knowledge, gain a +10 in each of the skills. Additionally choose Specific under each skill that was chosen and gain a +15 in each. If the General skill does not have any Specific Skills under it, instead gain +25.

Expert Lecturer II: Gain a +6 in Debate. Expert Lecturer III: Choose a Lecturing Technique:
  • Exhaustive Lecturer: Your lectures are lengthy and monotonous to the point of causing physical exhaustion in your opponents. Make a debate check against the opponent's diplomacy check. If you have more successes, its causes the opponent to take -4 to all ability scores for 1 minute. You may continue each phase to target the same opponent to stack the ability penalty and reset the duration.

  • Passionate Lecturer: You have a passion for the subjects you speak upon. You may choose one knowledge skill related to your subjects of debate to add your Debate skill to. You may also use debate in place of Fast Talk.

  • Thorough Lecturer: You never leave facts out of a debate. When rolling a Debate check if your roll is greater than 50 before modifiers change the roll to 50.

  • Supportive Lecturer: Your lectures can drill good habits into your allies. Before a complex action you may give a lecture to an ally. Make a hard debate check. If successful add ½ your debate skill to their next skill check.

Level 4

Expert Lecturer IV: Choose a Lecturing Technique. You must pick one you do not already know:
