Kerpudic

The traditional culture of the Kerpudhapea who live in small clusters throughout the magical Barrenlands. They typically consist of several families devoted to particular ancestral clans.  

Description

Nestled within small subterranean sanctuaries beneath the magically irradiated wastelands of Endeavour, the Kerpudic people have carved out a life of resilience and purpose. Deeply religious and culturally rich, they eschew magic, viewing it with suspicion born of the devastation that surrounds them. Instead, they channel their energies into mastering their crafts, transforming their unique isolation into an incubator for excellence. Among their many clans, this pursuit of mastery takes diverse forms: some delve into academic study, preserving ancient knowledge and uncovering new truths; others create breathtaking works of art, their creations a testament to their enduring spirit; while still others hone their skills in warfare, becoming unparalleled bladesmiths and tacticians. This fierce dedication to their crafts not only sustains them but also strengthens their bonds, ensuring their survival in the harsh, irradiated shadows of Endeavour.

Cultural Traits:


Each member of the Kerpudic gain two base traits of the culture and two traits determined by their clan. Non-Kerpudhapea can only be apart of the Boletus clan.

All members of the Kerpudic:
  Despised Magic: A deep-rooted fear and hatred of magic and its effects have bred an ineptitude to its use, but a resilence to its effects. Take a -2 Magic and -50 Mana. Whenever a member of the Kerpudic would be affected by a magical spell or ability roll a 1d100. On a 1-10 the effect is negated. They ignore the effects of magical radiation. If the member is a Kerpudhapea, double the range of their innate ability Magical Resistance instead.   Survivor of the Barrenlands: Through the natural evolution of living around the wastelands, members of the Kerpudic have developed the nessesary skills to survive in the inhospitable landscape. Gain a +12 to Survival (Barren) and a +2 Endurance.

Cremini
- This clan devotes itself to the study of the arts and romantic fantasies. They are the largest clan, but not the most powerful.
