Ijaapii
The Ijaapii are a fierce hunter race that has evolved to conquer Endeavor’s wicked jungles. To survive, the race developed many beastial characteristics to compete in the dangerous world. In many aspects, the Ijaapii mimic cats which are said to be somewhere at the start of their genepool.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Ijaapii are cat-like creatures with many various fur patterns consisting of solid, striped, spotted or a combination. They have blue, brown or hazel eyes and pointed ears. Ijaapii have two long slender tails as well. Male Ijaapii are larger and stockier than females
Biological Traits
Claw Attack: Sharp claws spring from an Ijaapii’s hands and feet. Their unarmed strikes weapon rating gains a +2 and the strike count as piercing or crushing damage. The Ijaapii chooses which damage type before each swing.
Enhanced Ears: Ijaapii’s large ears help them decipher different noises in the busy jungle. They gain a natural +6 to Awareness and an additional +25 to Listen.
Feline's Grace: When falling, Ijaapii have learned how to land softer. When rolling fall damage, the Ijaapi rolls a 1d100. On a 90-99 they takes half damage. On a natural 100, they takes no fall damage.
Hydrophobic: Ijaapii are terrified of open bodies of water and rivers. They gain a -10 to all rolls while in water.
Nocturnal Activity: Ijaapii have grown accustomed to hunting in the dark jungles during the night. They treat dark light levels as low-light and no light as dark.
Tree Climber: As a native to a forested environment, Ijaapii can climb from birth. Ijaapii gain +25 to Climbing, and an additional +25 to Climbing when scaling trees.
Genetics and Reproduction
Sexual with 3/4 year gestation and birth a litter of 1 to 5 children.
Ecology and Habitats
Ijaapii live in tree burrows, they use their sharp claws to hollow out complex tunnels through the various gargantuan trees inhabiting the rainforest. They then use vines and thatch to connect trees together forming villages. Large villages and cities cover the ground as well. Sharp wooden palisades mark off territory and keep wild beasts out of the tree clearings. Some large tree homes in the cities are accessible at ground level and can reach hundreds of meters into the air.
