Basic Information
Anatomy
These humanoid creatures have a ragged, vulture-like appearance, with four upper body limbs that add to their unsettling silhouette. Two are humanoid arms, thin and sinewy, while the other two are tattered wings sprouting just below their shoulder blades, with feathers missing in patches. Their gaunt bodies are draped in dull, blackened feathers that seem unkempt, clinging loosely to their narrow, bony torsos. Two spindly legs extend below, covered in sparse, scruffy feathers on the upper thighs, transitioning to rough, peach-colored, scaly lower legs ending in gnarled talons. Their small, bald heads perch atop long, scraggly necks, marked by a hooked gray beak and cold, beady black eyes that gleam with a predatory hunger.
Biological Traits
Advanced Flight: Carriio have wings that are developed enough to fly. As a partial action they can take off from a standing position. After taking off, the Carriio gains a fly speed equal to double its standard movement. Carriio cannot fly while under medium or heavy overencumbrance or while exhausted. Carriio can fly for a number of consecutive rounds equal to twice their Endurance (minimum 1 round). They can exert themselves to fly for up to twice as long, but then they are exhausted at the end of the flight. In addition, Carriio can use their wings to glide, negating damage from a fall from any height and allowing 6 meters of forward travel for every 2 meters of descent.
Beak and Claw: Equipped with a sharp beak and a long talon on their foot, the Carriio have deadly natural weapons. The Carriio’s beak can be used as a natural 8 WDR piercing weapon, and counts as an unarmed strike. Carriio can also perform a kick with their taloned feet, when using a kick attack one can chose to add +3 WDR in piercing while taking a -2 to the roll. These actions may only be performed if the beak/foot are uncovered.
Desert Dweller: A native to the harsh desert, this race is adapted to the difficult conditions. They have +5 Resistance(Fire) and are immune to the effects of hot weather.
Enhanced Survival: Carriio have a +50 Survival and have a +25 to Metu Mortis.
Genetics and Reproduction
Carriio reproduce sexually, There is a one month gestation, then the female lays six eggs at a time.
Growth Rate & Stages
Young Carriio are born with their arms and wings merged as a single limb. By the end of their second year of life, the limbs split and seperate.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Carriio can eat raw and rotten meat without any repercussions and can substitute the need for water with blood.

There is little respect freely given to Carriio. They are a rude and ungrateful race. They generally roam in small militant bands in search of people to plunder. Using their unique ability to stay for long periods of time in the open desert to rob and loot weakened travelers as they cross. A Carriio loves shiny objects and will kill to take even the smallest one. Often times, a group of Carriio will avoid a more well-armed party or caravan. When it comes to being out-matched, Carriio prefer flight over fight. However, when they have the advantage, no one is safe.
