Caldera
A planet discovered in 2335 and official exploration and colonization efforts starting in early 2350. Currently, it is being researched by NATOs best scientific teams led by Donald Tomas as well the system having large amounts of NATO military presence in order to deter any other factions making claims on this rare green gem.
Geography
The poles are two gigantic oceans, on the other side the area equator being extremely dry. The space between the equator and the poles being a mixture of lush forests, plains, mountain regions, and occasional lakes.
Current research is focusing on the forest and plains areas of the planet, with the equator and the pole-oceans being almost unexplored
Fauna & Flora
The planet is extremely diverse in both fauna and flora. The first having all specimens ranging from small ant-sized life all the way up to creatures having a weight of over 5 tons, from small herbivores to huge migrating herbivores, from small pack hunters up to large armored carnivorous monsters. Maybe even diverse is the latter, the planet possessing an overwhelming amount of plant species and variants.
The best examples of the local fauna would be the "wolf" a 4 legged small pack predator with a tail, a single head, and a furless skin, having the texture similar to either a molerat or a sphynx cat. The other best example would be the "Goliath".
Natural Resources
Iron, Silicon, Cobalt, Gold and few unusual and unidentified alloys spot the surface. The first of the identified alloys being some kind of iron-copper alloy found thanks to the heroic actions of as of yet officially unidentified mercenary group.
The possibility of large scale foresting businesses emerging in the future is high, but the highest recourse the planet is its possession of the rare compatibility with human species, while the oxygen content is somewhat lower than on Terra, this can be easily mitigated with light breathing-assisting equipment when high physical effort is exerted for extended periods of time and it is expected that adaptations will start developing in under 5 generations.
