Summer Camp 2023

Pledge

 

I hope to complete at least 16 prompts during this camp, and I plan to work on the World of Enaros for it! In fact, I'm grateful for this one because politics plays a massive role in my world, so getting together the political power would be actually amazing for me.

 

Power

 

Prompt: Which are the powerful organizations within your world setting? Who are the powerful individuals? What kinds of power do they wield and what are their weaknesses and needs?

One of the powerful organizations in the world is the Council of Sorcerers, which is a council who regulates the use of magic. The next one is the Intelligence Agency, which enforces the Council's rules as a police force. Next is the Ph'tani government, created by the humans who arrived from Earth four hundred years ago. They are the ones who created the Council to begin with. Another major organization that is powerful is actually the Children of the Prophet (stemmed from the original conservative Christians of Earth).

Individuals who have power are: Azira Cyrille (High Seer, which is basically President, of End'oria), Matthias Oliver (Majority Leader of the Council of Sorcerers), Christopher Halprin (Director of the Intelligence Ward), and Marianne Richmond (Ph'tani President). Director Halprin controls the police force of End'oria, essentially, as well as hoarding resources to make sure locals can't do investigations of their own. Marianne Richmond is the President of the Corporate States of Ph'tan, which means she's in control of the executive branch as well as the military. She is the reason Str'ana is in strife right now, trying to stay independent of Ph'tan.

 

Frontier

 

Prompt: Where are the frontiers in your worldsetting? And why would anyone want to go there?! What about metaphorical frontiers, like the “frontier of medicine” or space, the “final frontier”?

    There are two main frontiers that are known in Enaros: the Dhibani Desert, on the Dhibani continent, and the Eastern Frontier on the Ph'tani continent.   The Dhibani Desert is a sparsely populated desert where only those who can tolerate the heat survive. Usually the homes found here are infused with cooling magic. Despite the magic that exists, the desert is still too harsh for many.   The Eastern Frontier, however, in Ph'tan, is akin to the old Earthen Wild West. Native Enarians live in these parts, but Ph'tan doesn't like to acknowledge their existence.  

Minor Frontiers

  South and Southwest Kestria—a place of minor, loose nations within the Kestrian islands, all dispersed settlements.   Named nations:

• Masbela

• Chirtari

• Nohliamavan

• Tsashung

  Ohr Rhaniq: Eastern Hyr.   Kahfri Reshar: The Northern part of Helios, towards the border with Hyr.
