Ryan Walker D.C.

The capital of Naa'ran is named after the leader of the humans after the Great Exodus from Earth, Ryan Walker II, as well as the Earthen city, Washington D.C. This city-state is home of the House of Delegates and the Senate, the Presidential Palace, The Grand Court, and numerous governmental sites. It is also one of the most toured states of the country.

Government

Unlike it's predecessor on Earth, Walker D.C. has always had a government so it could self-govern.

Executive

Overseen by a governor, a vice governor, and an attorney general.

Legislative

The legislative branch of this state is the D.C. Council, a unicameral legislature consisting of 16 people elected by each of the eight districts; 2 reps per ward. They have 2 year terms, alternating the years for the election. 8 seats are up for election one year and the other 8 the next year. The Vice Governor is the head of the Council, and is responsible for breaking any ties.

Judicial

The Judiciary is elected by the legislature. They serve 10-year terms, with a mandatory retirement at 75. The justices select their own chief justice, who is legally limited to one 4-year term.

Named acter the German word for 'foggy', given this part of the city-state gets foggy more often than the surrounding areas. The ward most well-known for it's high concentration of federal buildings and office jobs. This is where the Presidential Palace, the Grand Court, and the Congressional buildings reside, mostly in the northern section of the ward. A bit further south, there are mansions typically occupied by foreign embassies.

    Albany Ward

Home of a smaller university, Anacostia University of Science and Magic.

    Racine Ward

Perhaps the most diverse ward, ranging from homes to industry. It is also home to the biggest Children of the Prophet church, St. Augustine's Baptist Church.

    Tuscon Ward

This is where the city-state government is housed, as well as some small cultural towns that are remnants of Earth such as Chinatown, Japantown, Little Italy, Little Spain, and more. Home to numerous offices and corporations, and is nicknamed the corporate center of the country.

    Houston Ward

Another area full of mostly single-family homes and small commerce. Oldest district and is where the Great Migration occurred.
