Vulpyo
The leader of Vulpya, the fox empire.
Requirements
The new Vulpyo/Vulpyen must be either related to the previous pair, children, nephews/nieces, or closely trusted by the previous pair, they also must be younger than them, but older than 21.
The previous pair decide who becomes the new together.
Appointment
A ceremony is performed with parts both in public and in private. For the initial coronation, a small private ceremony is performed inside the main house with just the previous Vulpyo and Vulpyen, the new Vulpyo/Vulpyen, the priest of Terovu and any family. At this ceremony, a bracelet is exchanged between the prior and new royals. The bracelet not yet needed is kept in a special box until the second ceremony.
After, they go outside to greet the masses, where past Vulpyo/Vulpyen wraps a cord around the new one in front of the crowd, again the second one is placed in another box. After this, the newly crowned royal goes into the city to essentially walk among their people.
For the second ceremony, either two weeks after the first or the marriage, pretty much the same events occur just with the other in the pair.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The first of the pair (Vulpyo and Vulpyen) is given a long cord with two bright green leaves at the end. This is to be worn around their antler. Once their partner is found, and marriage is confirmed, they too are given a cord, this one with a light green leaf at the end. If they are already married at the time of first coronation, the second cord will be given two weeks later.
The Vulpyen is given a ceremonial dagger, made of iron and with a vine wrapped round the handle. The Vulpyo is given a sword, this too iron, whose hilt is wrapped in vines.
The two have matching bracelets, metal bands with the initials of them, their partner and all previous leaders, though these are not actively displayed to the public.
Cultural Significance
They are highly respected as Vulpya is held in high regard by most other empires thanks to its willingness to be friendly with anyone who enters its borders.
