Founded in 1034 the Iron Dome Spears were created to police Hammerfall Mines Under orders from House Ironhelm These lightly armoured spears are designed to protect city from the desert peoples to the south in the Red Waste Desert

These are well trained and well equipped soldiers; armed with a two handed pine spear, designed to break off into enemy cavalry, and a hand ax for the melee that follows. The targe shield can be strapped to the soldiers back to brace, or strapped to the arm.

Drilled in large unit tactics, these soldiers typically deploy 6-8 ranks deep, making a solid block of steel to deter any cavalry charge.

These are high quality fighting men, and as such they are paid well, averaging 20 silver pieces per week

Ranks

Gold Spear

The highest position of these soldiers. More of an administrator than a warrior. The rank and file of these soldiers act as police for Ironhold Mines.

Though this is a non nimble tittle, it does come with some social prestige.

Silver Spears

Captains of 50 men, each tasked with policing a smaller district of the city. There are 16 of these silver spears. These are typically honourable warriors, and many have some minor magical abilities; typically healing or supportive magic.

Deep Spears

A unique heavy armoured style of warrior that specializing in fighting in the deep mine shafts. Used to fighting in low light against all manor of horror.
