Pheonix Mages
Lore
At the Copernicus Collage and Library , the battle mages were never meant to be warriors alone. Chosen from the most gifted apprentices, only a hundred are maintained at any time, balancing duty between the battlefield and the library halls. Their days are split—hours of study, cataloguing tomes, and recording the empire’s decrees, followed by regimented drills in the courtyard where flame, frost, lightning, and poison are practiced under watchful eyes. They are scholars first, soldiers second, trained to apply their knowledge with precision. The phoenix on their robes is not for glory, but for vigilance—guardians of knowledge, order, and measured power.
Ranks
Battle Master
The arcane master for training new adepts in combat and offensive spells. Though this is a very influential position in court, it is largely merit based, meaning whoever fills this role is truly a master of the arcane.
Lore Keeper
The counterpart to the battle master. The Lore Keeper focuses on the preservation of knowledge. This role is also very influential at court, and sometimes can be held by those at the end of their political career, however typically this role is magical in nature, making those with political aspersions unsuited.
Some of the record are arcane in nature, others are tomes about the natural world, trade secrets, taxation and memoirs of those deemed worthy to be preserved.
