The personal fighters of House Bloodfang , the Forlorn Hope are unique in Belkar. Rather than acting as personal bodyguards for the nobles of a house, the Forlorn Hope are primarily offensive fighters. Armed with large two handed weapons, Forlorn Hope specialize in fortress assaults. Usually the first up a ladder or top of a siege tower, there goal is to make a hole in the enemy so more can follow behind them.

These behemoth warriors are selected for thier size and aggression. Trained in the Otto Von Fighting pits, these warriors train in fighting duels against 2-5 different opponents to simulate the odds in combat.

Needless to say the tenure of these warriors is extremely short, typically under a few years.
