Backstory
Bjorn Smokehorst, the third-generation butcher of Salt and Spice in Seafall , learned his craft from his father’s scarred hands and his grandfather’s sharp eye. The Smokehorst family built its reputation on preserving meats for long sea voyages, mixing local salts and rare spices from distant markets. Bjorn takes pride in his precision—every cut is clean, every spice measured by instinct. His patience and sense of duty have kept the family business thriving despite hard winters and new traders. Yet, his stubbornness often drives wedges between him and his apprentices, as he refuses to change traditions older than himself. To the townsfolk, he is a fixture of Seafall—steady, consistent , and as enduring as the smoke rising from his curing racks each dawn.
