Seth Dwarn

Doctor Seth Cornelius Dwarn

Dr. Seth Dwarn is the current head of engineering at Nexus Technologies. He is known for his brilliance in the areas of nanotechnology and lasers. He was instrumental in the events of taking down the supervillain Ms. Matter.

History

Early Life

Seth Dwarn was born in Evansville, Indiana on November 11th of 1976 to his parents Iris and Cornelius Dwarn. His mother came from a Korean family. From a young age, Seth was quite interested in building things. He helped his father build a dog house early in his youth, and soon became interested in fixing technology. He helped fix his father's broken down car at the age of 13. Soon, he learned that he loved engineering in school, as well as physics. He graduated high school with an impressive 4.0 GPA, and got a full scholarship to go to Indiana Tech University. Through hard work and a love of the field, Seth Dwarn showed he was a cut above the rest of the student body with his research into laser technology.   His resume managed to catch the eye of an eager young tech entrepreneur from California, named Jacob Enoch. It was thanks to Dwarn that they invented the miniaturized beam, a useful engineering tool that caught the attention of the United States government. Enoch was paid generously and Dwarn was rewarded for his theories on energy beams. It was from this groundwork that Nexus Technologies was formed, and Dwarn was made the head of engineering projects. They made their headquarters in Portland, Oregon, and opened in August of 1998.   In the same year, Seth Dwarn met his eventual wife, Cynthia Drew. They married in 1999, and had two children: a son named Seth Jr, and a daughter named Jessica.

Ms. Matter Incident

In 2021, an up and coming physics graduate from Olympia university joined the Nexus Technologies team, named Megan Matter. Dwarn tried to take the young student under his wing. However, Megan was rather full of herself and her ideas. She often treated Dwarn with no respect, believing him to be "inferior" in intelligence. Dwarn tried to teach the young woman caution and to be less arrogant, but his words fell on deaf ears. Eventually, Director Jacob Enoch had Dwarn partner up with Megan on her theoretical teleporter. Dwarn saw many problems with the teleporter, but once again, his words fell on deaf ears.   The year passed to March of 2023, where the teleporter was finished. Dwarn tried to warn Director Enoch that the project could be unstable, but Matter shut down Dwarn and removed him from the project. Dwarn was not present when the demonstration happened, but it caused a ginormous implosion and killed several. Megan was presumed dead, but the dark matter that spawned from the machine instead ingulfed her, turning into the supervillain Ms. Matter. Ms. Matter abducted Director Enoch and brought him back into the ruined building. Dwarn, feeling partially responsible for the events, followed him inside and eventually ran into Emerald-Man.   Together Emerald-Man and Seth Dwarn concocted a plan to trap Ms. Matter within a vacuum chamber. Dwarn utilized a prototype freezing ray that he had created to defend himself against Ms. Matter. Emerald-Man escorted Dwarn to the vacuum facility and held off the villain while Dwarn went to turn on the vacuum chambers. First, he had to removed the captured director, who was put in one of the tubes. When Enoch was released, Dwarn sucked up Ms. Matter into the chamber, disabling her powers and leaving her captured. Dwarn denounced both Ms. Matter and Director Enoch for their recklessness, and departed.

Fourth of July Incident

Despite Dwarn's warnings, Jacob Enoch rebuilt Ms. Matter's machine. Enoch managed to make the machine properly function to Dwarn's surprise. However, it was revealed to be a powerful teleporter, to bring more Fomorians to the surface world. Enoch, revealing himself as the fomorian Eochu Bres, then mind wiped Dwarn to ensure he would say nothing of what happened.
