Criminal Activity
During the course of that night, on the second watch, an over-excitable Alfgar called out to young Aster who was hiding out on the roof, alerting the guards to his suspicious presence. A couple of guards then came to evict him from the roof, much to his disgruntlement.
Once the dawn came, the party had a spirited discussion about what to do next, eventually settling on investigating the part of the mill leat, in the direction that the young girl had pointed them towards the “ghost”.
After some mishaps crossing the leat, Aster, Alfgar and Roderic found nothing but a suspicious wet spot, and a single exotic footprint on the far side, though Roderic spent considerable time poking around for more evidence. In the mean time, Alfgar attempted to re-enter the steep-sided leat and fell in, being carried rapidly downstream.
Aster, having leapt in after him, was eventually able to, with the help of Leutgar, and through an episode of slapstick-comedy, rescue Alfgar and aid him back to the near shore where Leutgar and Edwen attempted to aid the near-drowned barbarian.
Roderic chose instead to walk down the far side of the water, and the whole party returned to town for the night via the bridge.
The bedraggled adventurers finished the day back at the Inn, where Roderic questioned the innkeep about the mysterious elven woman that Aster had met with some nights prior....
