Miscellaneous
Aster returned that afternoon... after some misadventures to witness the guards, with Alfgar and Luetgar in tow, attempting to verify the “information” that Alfgar had attempted to impart, and Leutgar had further confused. Rendel was unable to help them however, leaving Aster to see Alfgar and Leutgar put on “house arrest” for the next few days.
Alfgar and Leutgar then informed Aster what had happened, why they were being questioned, and that the children were now deceased. Aster commenced drinking.
After Alftgar and Leutgar went back to bed, Aster chose to join the mysterious elven woman at her table, she never spoke, just finished her wine, looking at him with amusement, tapped her empty wine glass on the table, gave Aster a raised eyebrow and a little smirk, and stood up and walked out.
After which Roderic found Aster in his cups and after a brief interaction, Roderic helped him upstairs to bed in Roderic's room.
Roderic spent the night at a table in the inn, eating and sketching in his notebook until Alfgar and Leutgar returned downstairs, joined shortly by Aster for a very early breakfast before the four tried to decide what to do with themselves.
Alfgar and Leutgar having been forbidden to leave town, the group decided they couldn't begin their next mission yet, and thoughts returned to the lost cat notice that Leutgar had picked up from the bulletin board the week before and the party set off to find the “brown tabby cat, M on the forehead, answers to Missy”.
Aster, still being put out with Leutgar due to his recommendation to send the children to the church, chose to partner with Roderic and head into the more middle class part of town, leaving Alfgar and Leutgar to head into the slums, hopefully avoiding a skunk this time.
After some various cat-catching shenanigans, the four met back up outside the inn, with a total of 4 cats, two each. One scrawny with a torn ear, one round, both feral, one fat and complacent and one feisty half-grown kitten.
None of them could remember who's cat they were looking for as the paper had long-since been discarded, so they went through the town square calling out for whoever was missing a cat. The young lady shorty ran out from the area that Aster and Roderic had visited to claim the kitten, who promptly clawed her hand and bit her as she carted it back home calling it “schnookums”, leaving the party with three more owner-less cats, one of whom had chosen to pee on Alfgar while wrapped tight in his cloak.
Realizing that the plump, complacent moggy was almost certainly someone's house cat, Aster returned it to whence it came, leaving only the feral cats to be disposed of, and Leutgar decided that Afgar's pissy little bundle needed to become part of the “family” the 4th cat was released to find it's way back to the slums, and the party returned to the inn.
Leutgar offered the cat, now named Torg, a water-less bath (via prestidigitation), then had Edwen examine her, nearly leading to Torg's escape, and ending in Edwen's announcement that Torg was definitely with kitten...
The party then spent a day and a half in down-time, resting, drinking, maintenance, attempting to tame a feral cat.. and waiting for the guards to return with whatever news they may.
