Overview

Cinder bulbs are a small flowering plant, which is native to the planet Dosma. They have two primary life-stages which are the "Collection" and "Budding" stage. This plant's genetic material is stored in Exosite-10 archives.

Life Cycle

"Collection Stage" Seeds of this plant will typically germinate after 6 - 10 Coalition days, and will appear as dark purple leaves arranged in a cross shape. The plant will remain in this stage for 75% of its lifespan. In which the leaves will gather as much sunlight as possible. The plant's energy are stored in tubers dubbed "Chambers" and will slowly burry themselves deep into the soil in preparation for a Superflare event. After a Superflare event, the leaves wither away, and the next life stage begins.   "Budding Stage" The tubers rapidly use their stored energy to grow a bulb. This bulb appears gray with four sides. It also appears to have streaks on its surface, with a small opening on its top. The bulb is known to defend itself by squirting a highly reactive chemical through its upper opening.   "Reproduction" When the Bulb is fully grown the opening on the top will extend and the highly reactive chemical used for the plants defense is used as fuel for the plant to ignite itself. Its seeds escape through the top opening using the hot air currents to propel them into the sky. This soon ends when the bulb is completely incinerated. Is reproductive process is how the plant got its name.

Uses

A domesticated crop version of this plant grown on many Dosma-like worlds, called "Magma Chamber" places full emphasis on its tubers rather than its bulb. the Magma Chamber's tubers are larger and more delectable and its natural counterpart. However, the Magma Chamber's bulb is small and simply explodes to spread its seeds. The Cinder Bulb plays an important role in Dosmian culture.
