Elvish
This is the running dictionary of elvish words, word components, and phrases. It will continuously be added to and updated as I need it to be.
Certain words have their Camaerath dialect specified.
Semantics
Elvish works with a lexicon of simple words that are then combined or modified to create more complex words. For example, Iy refers to the "I" noun, while Iyan means "my" or "mine." However, the suffix -an has no real meaning on its own. Consider the naming of all elven races/subraces: they all take a prefix (arakh-, nax-, dath-, etc.) and then add the word anra as a suffix, implying that they are a child of whatever prefix is attached. So, Dathanra, which combines dath ("deep") and anra ("child") translates to deep-child. Additionally, anra means child or children, so its translation has to be determined off the context of the sentence.Dictionary
