Scavenger Hunt

This room of the casino on the fifth floor. You push through the door of a room resembling a classroom, with three rows of desks facing a whiteboard to your left. On the whiteboard, the words "SCAVANGER HUNT" are hastily written with three exclamation points. Standing at either end of the whiteboard are two Magidrones pacing back and fourth with fingers on their chins. One wears a long trench coat with a pinstripe vest beneath. A square buckled belt wraps around his waist. His name? Dirk Diamond. Across the whiteboard is my partner, Jonny Gold. Jonny always wears that dumb red tie he thinks makes him look smart. His white collared shirt has some coffee stains on the sleeve. Knowing that clumsy fool there are likely more stains under the gray vest, that he also, always wears. His leather gloves would keep him from contaminating crime scenes if he didn't knock over everything he touched. His brown pants don't match the rest of his outfit, but what has Jonny ever known about fashion. I look up as some new faces enter my precinct. They stand around for a second like golems unsure of which station is theirs. I tell them, "Take a seat contestant." These poor sweet souls. Where they see a harmless scavenger hunt, I see crime, running rampant. The situation has gotten particularly bad these past few months. As new guests and faces flood the casino with more energy than a hit of Feenstein, I can hardly keep up with the growing pile of cases stacked atop my desk. I glance over at my desk in the corner. Five cases. Seems like only yesterday there were four. I'm getting too old for this. I turn back to the newly seated rookies. "Alright recruits... I mean contestants! Today we will be tracking down some items of interest."

Each day, there will be a mystery in the casino. Dirk and Jonny will brief the party on a case within the casino. They know where the crimes were committed due to a calling card left by the thief, a page of Tarius Ransker's spell book, who was the thief's first mark. In each room the party must help Dirk and Jonny investigate what was stolen, along with deciphering what the calling card means. The crimes and their solutions are detailed in Short Thief Big Pockets.

After each case, the detectives will pay the party accordingly, 1500 chips for the first case, 2000 chips for the second, 2500 chips for the third, 3000 chips for the fourth, and finally 3500 chips for the fifth and final case.

Luck less than 25:

The detectives haven't caught wind of any of the mystery thief's activities, instead asking the party to investigate Yuuta Oshiro on the charges of cheating at his sauna sumo game. While the game is permitted by the casino, they did not approve any exterior help. They ask the party to look into the validity of rumors they have heard and provide sufficient proof that he is cheating. They are sent to the sauna with 1000 chips to play against him and will be rewarded another 1000 if they succeed in gathering evidence against the captain.
