Cave Felver
As the Sundering raged when the world of Elysia was young, the Felvers across Sycios feared the wrath of the gods so much that they abandoned their great city of Talock and hid undergound. Over hundreds of years, magic and evolution warped generations of Felvers into a blind, grey-skinned species with pointed ears and hooked claws. They carved great caves under Elysia to the very heart of the Ley Lines, eating bats and the monsters that make homes in the darkest recesses of the world. The trauma of the Sundering and the darkness below was so great that many lost their sanity and began to consort with beings of darkness. After 200 years in proximity to the magical Ley Lines, a surge of power within Elysia brought a blessing to the Cave Felvers: the first Elves, pure of mind and magic, were born.
The Cave Felvers soon grew to fear their young. As masters of the arcane arts, Elves quickly grew in power. They retained the pointed ears and colorless pallor of their parents but could stand tall and see with sparkling eyes. Fear soon gave way to jealousy, and jealousy, to all out war.
Cave Felvers began to slaughter young Elves. Parents turned on their children and devoured them whole, hoping to gain Elvish magic. Monsters rose at their beck and tore through the caves, intent on snuffing out every pair of sparkling eyes. But the Elves fought back.
Wielding the power of their birthright, the Elves struck out at the Felvers, hunting them down like beasts. They slew terrible monsters and brought to justice their parents. It is said after the Elves were finished, blood could be seen pouring out of the mouth of every cave in Elysia. Intent on wiping the Cave Felvers out entirely, the Elves did not stop until all had met their end. They then emerged victorious into the light of day, and the name Cave Felver was reduced to little more than a rumour.
Culture
Cave Felvers kept the cultural traditions of their Felver ancestors. Cave Felver Tribes are more common than clans due to how small their habitat usually is. Cave Felvers have abandoned many mannerisms for a more brutish way of life and have forgotten Broken Common but speak more often in Ancient Tongue than their counterparts.
