Basin of Maloros
The Basin of Maloros is a massive stretch of land encased within the Dragon Peaks mountain range. The basin gets its name for the great Red Dragon Maloros who came from the mountain to blacken the land after witnessing the Blood Moon Ritual concocted by an upstart Felver tribe.
In the wake of Maloros's flames, new life grew. Swathes of land that were thousands of years ago blackened now brim with more life than the parts untouched by flame. There are rumours that a dragon's breath contains vast amounts of raw magic due to this confusing occurrence.
Geography
The actual basin contains vast stretches of creeks and lakes that are surrounded by trees. Freshwater from the mountains is driven downwards and collects within these streams and lakes, allowing the basin to harbour a great amount of flora and fauna. Trees encircle the different lakes and rivers, keeping them cool and providing shade for the animals.
The basin contains stretches of trees that have grown in strange patterns - in a straight line or in random circles - without any reason. These plants are often different from native plants in that they bear different colours of wood, bear strange bulbous, sweet fruits and grow with leaves instead of needles. The forests these trees form have thick underbrush that is strangely coloured in bright orange and blue with massive flowers. Few animals can be found in these areas, save native ones that may have wandered through. These lines of forest are thought to be the result of dragon-fire scorching the land thousands of years ago. The plants are born from and feed upon the latent nature magic contained within the dragon's breath that still lingers in the ground.
