Almara
Almara (a.k.a. Hagatha, The Witch in the Greenwood)
Almara, known as Hagatha to the people of Greyhold and the Spiders of Lilitheb, is a powerful and dark sorceress that watches over the Cracked Islands. She came to the island 300 years ago as a chaplain of the Proxian Empire on a voyage directed by Commander Amira Grey of the 4th Legion.
Almara is currently the main antagonist against the group of adventurers Aurora, Bas, Hannibal, McTyte, Pong and Var. The adventurers have thwarted her everlasting curse of Greyhold and freed it's inhabitants. Now they seek her out in person. It is unknown as to whether Almara has recognised their existence yet.

Special abilities
Almara appears to have obtained the abilities of a Dark Shapeshifter. She functions as the warden of the Green Islands, using ancient pact magic such as curses. However it is implied that she is familiar with, and uses the darker side of magic, Shadow. She is able to commandeer elite guards from the Felver Tribes to follow her. Salvius Lial has commented that she is well versed in nature magic and will try to lock down her opponents using or creating tough terrain. She has a resistance to Nature and Arcane magic but is weak against Shadow.

Personal history
Almara was one of the few citizens to be taken by a native Felver tribe to be used for their corrupting rituals.
Almara endured starvation, forced feeding of black ichor, forced cannibalization and ritual humiliation at the hands of the native tribe until a certain point when she broke free. She fled the tribe. It is unknown at this point where she went or what she did but after 200 years of hiding, she emerged as the witch Hagatha. She came to the town of Eridale in Green Island where the ancestors of the Proxian fleet had settled and began to curse the town under the guise of a handmaiden that was close to Erina Grey, the then Commander of the Proxian expedition.
Almara adopted the guise of the handmaiden Melissa, whom she possessed by shape-shifting into a rat and falling into Melissa's soup. Unsuspecting, Melissa swallowed the rat, which began to posess her movements and finally eat her from the inside out, manifesting the soul and then the body of Almara within her skin.
Almara set about creating the jeweled Tiara of Greyhold. Over her 20 years as handmaiden she became close with Erina grey whilst gathering a Jade from the Greyhold mines, an opal from a dock-hand and a Soulstone with help from the soothsayer Salvius Lial.
Almara's plans came to fruition when she faked Melissa's death and came to Eridale posing as Melissa's grieving mother. She gave the crown to Erina explaining it was her daughter who worked tirelessly to make it. Erina stored it in her treasury. The curse took effect. It held the souls of those in Eridale to the mortal plane so long that their physical bodies deteriorated and they suffered a lethargy that only the most driven and righteous of Erina's followers could shake off.
Mental Trauma
It is almost assured that Almara has become unstable due to her treatment at the hands of the Felver tribe she was captured by. She displays unstable behaviour and chronic drive for vengeance, only amplified by her elongated life and ability to use a high level of magic.
Morality & Philosophy
Almara seems to function as the protector of the island. She is also vengeful, having planned the downfall of Eridale and the Grey bloodline for at least 20 years as well as being directly involved in orchestrating it.
