Department of Infernal Affairs

The Department of Infernal Affairs, abbreviated as DIA, is the internal security agency of Hell formed in 1954 during the second demonic civil war. Originally intended to disrupt dissident faction within Hell during the civil war including internal subterfuge, it evolved into mass surveillance network ensuring cohesion within Hell's population and government.

History

The department was first born from the Second Demonic Civil War to conduct espionage and sabotage the opposing Independents and later the Radicals. As the war grew older by the day, the populous came to resent the Order starting protests, riots, and acts of terrorism. To combat this, the department was tasked with preventing further descent within the population using many of the same tactics they once used against rebel forces. In the closing years of the war it was official titled the Department of Infernal Affairs, though without celebration or even acknowledgement.

Post war, the department quickly assimilated into "civilian" life becoming a information network cataloguing and filing everything about everyone. They were to ensure that never again could such a conflict occur, to cement Lucifer's rule over hell and prevent and dissident factions from forming.
