Del'Tarim Alliance
Del'Tarim Alliance - A collection of nine semi independant sovereign states. Each of the ruling Marquess have sworn a pact with the other eight, offering aid when necessary and protecting the border trade routes. Grand Marquess Del'Tarr rules the largest and most powerful of the states. As such, she also leads counsil when the nine lords come together.
Grand Marquess Del'Tarr - Alyanna Moonweaver Del'Tarr is a high elf who traces her bloodline back to the arch wizard Del'Tarr. Despite her position as Grand Marquess, the other lords place little trust in her. She comands the largest military force of the alliance but hesitates to deploy it unless her state is threatened directly. She has placed spys in all of the other states, expecting a plot to dethrone her.
Marquess Teleron - Edwin Hobblehand's grandfather once led a coup against the decendants of Teleron, the Tinker. For this reason he has worked hard to gain the respect of the other lords, making the Teleron region incredibly prosperous despite being one of the smallest states. His young age, for a Gnome, only made building his reputaion that much more difficult.
Marquess Brolin - Brolin Ironback 84th, like his predecessors, changed his name when ascending to the throne. It is unknown if he has any relation to Brolin the champion. He cares little for the political workings of the rest of the alliance, believing that the states should be fully independant kingdoms. Though even within his own state, his focus is placed mostly on the Dwarven capitol.
Marquess Islor - Daven Woodsong is famous for his uncannily even temper, greeting tragedy and inconvenience with the same thoughtful monotone. He is known to work closely with the Grand Marquess, which often invites the same distrust given to her. Whether this bothers him or not, not even his advisors could say. He claims to be descended from the druid Islor, but this claim is often contested.
Marquess Maldaeus - Trenton Maldaeus is as crafty and ambitious as his heroic ancestor. It is known that he covets the title of Grand Marquess, though his true ambition is to turn the alliance into a proper empire. Among the nine lords, he holds the most contempt for the people of Lagorn. Many claim that what is left of the dwindling slave trade answers to him, though none have proof.
Marquess Walduur - Waldra Littlethorn likes to refer to herself as the Holy Marquess, following in the clerical traditions of the hero Walduur, Cleric of Lys. Unlike the other states, the title of Marquess is held by the High Cleric of Lys rather than being passed through familial succession. This devotion to religion has led Walduur to being considered the weakest of the states.
Marquess Fa'rra - The hero Fa'rra was famously known as a celibate monk, so Elenorra Thane's claims to be her decendant are met with scorn. The only reason she can keep a good reputation among the other lords is because Fa'rra's port city is essential for trade.
Marquess Thaddos - Dormod Stonebane is often considerd to have an inflated ego, even among the nine lords. this stems from Thaddos' privilaged position among the alliance as the resting place of the Astral Keystone. Pilgrims and adventurers often come to honor the Heroes of the Cataclysm, and Dormod is all too willing to show off how well the Keystone is secured.
Marquess Aegon - Aegon Shademark is considered a heratic by the more devout lords, holding unconventional beliefs about the gods. He prefers isolation, but not to the detriment of his people. He trades when necessary but often ignores the calls to council. To his people though, he is reveared as a fair and just lord. Despite his name, he claims no connectiong to the hero Aegon.
