Root Prime
Root Prime was the first Guardian, and the last known owner of the Prime Matrix. Root lives for eons in astral space and helped Prometheus create the Guardian Race.
Root lead his people into the front lines in the war with Hadar.
All known guardians were destroyed and Root was left heavily damaged and set adrift in space. Root ultimately crash landed on a world that would later become Elodris.
Root remained buried and trapped under Volanis until Eldrin and the adventuring party found him. The prime matrix was passed on to Eldrin.
Root deactivated with the loss of his matrix, but lives on with the souls of countless Guardians now joined with the matrix... some who have died, and some that have yet to live.
