Elloreeve is a work in progress campaign setting for a home-brew mash-up TTRPG.   The kingdom of Elloreeve spans the Iclun Penninsula and gets its name from the near-impassable mountain chain that borders it to the north, separating it from the rest of the Maunuthan continent. In times past Elloreeve was known throughout the world, Dicoa, for its wealth and abundance of natural beauty. The capital city, which lends the kingdom its name, seems to have sprung forth from the placid lake with silver shores which creates the city's eastern barrier and from where fish that are varied, large, and plentiful feed its citizens throughout the seasons.   The Iclun forests have a well-earned reputation for producing the strongest lumber and every scholar, craftsman, and layman of Maunuth knows that the forest closest to the city of Elloreeve is where the strongest wood in Dicoa is. That particular forest is vast, dense, and verdant. The canopy consists of Juniper, Cottonwood, and Poplar as well as the massive Ironwood that dominates the skyline giving the forest the name Ironwood Forest. Thin branches, sparsely suspended from various trees, covered in bright vines, and a mishmash of flowers highlight the otherwise dark forest. The flora and fauna of this forest provide abundant food and resources to the inhabitants of Elloreeve.   Elloreeve also has the incredible fortune of being the location where the greatest concentration of silver in Maunuth is found. For centuries, Elloreeve has profited from the trade and sales of silver and silver goods, becoming the largest exporter of precious metals.   Such abundant resources need protecting and the standing army of Elloreeve was formed to do that. The passes through the Elloreeve mountains were easily defendable and outposts were erected at each to garrison the troops. As the capital city began to grow, further military posts were constructed to protect it. When the coastlines of the Iclun Penninsula suffered raiding parties, a navy was formed. Elloreevian ships constructed of Ironwood are the strongest in Dicoa and they made defending the sea not only achievable but almost effortless.   Artisans from all over Dicoa flocked to Elloreeve to study under masters in their respective fields of study, some working towards creating new arts and sciences, and eventually founding a collection of schools in the city of Elloreeve where the emerging interdisciplinary studies were taught.   Elloreeve became an empire of empires and remained that way for almost 1000 years. However, the late king Barwell Erart was the first king of Elloreeve to inherit a dying kingdom. His father, Declan Erart, lost much of the respect of the neighboring nations of Maunuth when he imposed tariffs on Elloreeve's exports. The action was perceived as a mad attempt to bankrupt the countries that depended on Elloreevian raw materials and wares. The once allied nations accused Declan of increasing prices so that he could absorb the indebted countries into Elloreeve and expand his borders, thus gaining new subjects to fill his coffers with their taxes. Undeniable proof of Declan's intent was found by trade masters and the rest of Maunuth angered that the accusations were true, shunned the king and deprived Elloreeve of trade and commerce forcing the kingdom into isolation.   Declan's son, the late king Barwell Erart, vowed to bring Elloreeve back from the brink of ruin. He instilled in his children a sense of honor and duty to the subject-citizens of the kingdom. He believed that if Elloreeve was to be truly wondrous again, that it was the people that would make it so. He reinstated the noble class that his father had removed, with one notable change: nobility was no longer based only on heritage but on proven virtue as well. For the first time in Elloreeve's history, anyone was able to earn a noble title, land, and the responsibilities that come with them based on their actions.   King Jehanel Erart has recently inherited his late father's kingdom of Elloreeve. However, much is to be done to lift his newly inherited kingdom into prosperity.   Elloreeve's silver mines have been producing less and less ore as the years pass on. The pristine white marble that has been gathered from the stone quarry and used to construct the castle, capital city, and provincial outposts of the kingdom since before time remembered has been used up, and sandstone is all that can be found. The Ironwood Forest, which is older than the kingdom itself, having been sustainably harvested for over a millennium, recently has an issue in which the wood has consistently yielded softer timbers that show signs of rot and decay making most of the trees felled unusable.   Elloreeve needs heroes to ensure that the kingdom regains its rightful footing in the world by coming to her king's aid, assisting him in rescuing his kingdom while keeping the land prosperous despite economic setbacks brought about by the depletion of the natural resources, and securing his legacy thereby bringing the province out of almost a century of isolation.
