Idzítsilzexaíian Language
Within central Egoni, this is the main language and is considered the primary language of the continent. Subset languages exist such as Ûvør̀øian Language. It's considered one of the hardest languages to learn, but when spoken, it sounds like music.
Myths herald that this language is a combination of an ancient human language that was adapted to Dragios languages, and this is why it has such a musical nature. Some of the tonal rules seem to indicate Dragios origin since no known human language holds such complexity with tones. Some prior myths posit that the rules are for those with multi-layered vocal chords since throat-singers often find it easier to sing some of the ancient texts, many of which held even more complex tonal harmonies. Scholars view this as evidence that Dragios had several layers of vocal chords, and likely sung in chordal harmony in their languages. To alter a human language in an attempt to bridge the gap between Dragion and human is a common part of the Kakia myth. Ancient documents, many of which were damaged during the Silence, point to Kakia being able to speak both human and Dragios, where they were two in one.
The language is a tonal language, where its vowels are high, mid, or low depending on the following rules:
Adjective order: Adjectives are positioned before the noun.
Adposition: prepositions
There are 14 noun classes, and multiple classifiers.
The plurality of the verb is added AFTER the noun class inflection.
Pronouns rely on the animacy aspect. There is no actual male, female, or neuter pronouns. Human beings are in the HighAnimate category and all have the same pronouns. Non-human sentient life are either in the HighAnimate or MediumAnimate category. Non-sentient animals are MediumAnimate and sometimes MediumLow Animate. Plants and insects are generally LowAnimate. All non-living objects are inanimate.
- Assign high to all syllables.
- If first letter is a vowel change to mid, but if it is a consonant of any class keep as high.
- If middle syllable holds any consonant in the L or N class, change vowel to a mid.
- If middle syllable holds any consonant in the C class, change vowel to a low.
- If final syllable holds L or N class, change vowel to a mid.
- If final syllable holds any consonant in the C class, change vowel to low.
Natively known as: Idzítsilzexaí /iˈʣɪʦiˌɮeχaɪ/
