The architecture profession is considered a general design career, where most of the basics for architecture design is taught at all Teakin and most Siteakin paths. Accessible design is crucial to many overlapping careers so the design rules for accessible building design overlaps much of this overarching design theory.
All architecture design must abide by the particular rules as outlined in this document: Architecture of Elivera.
Often this profession doesn't have a set group of people who choose it as a long term profession but is instead ran by a committee of trained community members, who rotate out every few years. The basic qualification for the committee is an understanding of accessible design, geometry, acoustics, materials, and design elements that impact usage, form, function, access, and durability. The committee will draft designs for various projects that the community-at-large has decided is needed.
Designs then return to the larger community conventions, where votes will be cast on the ones most appealing and most likely to fit the specified needs.
The chosen design returns to the architectural committee, where the planning and building phases will soon commence.
Sometimes community members become highly skilled from their education and time on committees, and may become highly sought after in other communities that wish to create similar styles of buildings. These individuals may be requested to join temporarily the other community's committee to aid their efforts.

Payment & Reimbursement
During length of term on the architectural committee, all living expense are covered. Trade points are earned and career experience logged. Some cultures do have a physical payment system for their more coin-based economies, but for the post-scarcity economies, the trade points are used for bartering local or exported materials for tailor-made items.
Other Benefits
Full access to all resources and design blueprints in city's archives and storage. Most societies already have a universal healthcare system untethered to professions. If designs are popular and heavily desired by community, the professional may gather a following and other communities may request for their skills on their architectural committees.

Purpose
Its purpose is to design accessible, usable, functional, interesting, sustainable, and durable buildings and city designs.
History
Because of the mixed and diverse skills of the original survivors of humanity on Elivera, the profession was born from committees of people coming together to discuss are argue the merits of various designs and how to be accessible to the most vulnerable members of the community. Over time, this developed into the Accessible Design Theory and Architecture of Elivera principles. The committee system has been refined and updated to fit community needs and technology, but overall has been left fairly intact since its early days in humanity's history on Elivera.
